Frequently Asked Questions about Summer Reading Program

1. How do I keep track of what I read?

There are 2 different ways to keep track of what you read.   You can download the available flyer from the website and color in the paint splotches or paint tubes on the flyer.  Or you can use the Beanstack Link online to keep track. 

2. When do I get a prize?

After reading 5, 15, 20 and 25 books for ages 0-6 years or after every 5 hours of reading for ages 7-12,  bring your flyer or your phone (mom or dad's phone) with your online Beanstack record to the library and go to the Children's section.

3.  When can I start reading?

You may begin reading on June 1st.  Please do not count anything read before June 1.

4.  What are the guidelines for ages 0 to 6 years?

Count the number of books you read to win prizes as you go.   Color in one paint splotch for every book you read.   Or enter your books online at the Beanstack link.  Try to get to 30 books before the end of the program.  (July 30th)  If you reach 30 books, you will get a chance for the GRAND PRIZES.  

5.  What are the guidelines for ages 7-12 years?

Count your minutes as you go.   Color in 1 paint tube on the flyer or enter your time on the Beanstack link for every hour you read.  Try to get to 20 hours before the end of the program.  (July 30th)  If you reach 20 hours, you will get a chance to win one of the GRAND PRIZES!

6.  If my child doesn't read, can they still participate?

Yes!   Count the number of books or minutes you read to them.

-Can my baby participate?

YES!  Count the number of books you read to them.

7.  If I finish 1 reading log (30 books or 20 hours), can I start another one ? 

Yes you can!   You can earn more prizes but only 1 pizza coupon per child!

8.  What is the last day I can turn in a reading log?

Friday, July 30th at midnight

9. When is the final drawing?

Drawing for grand prizes will be Friday, July 31st at 10:00 am. 

10.  How do the prizes work?

After you hit your goals, bring in your reading log  (paper or digital)   You will choose a prize from the Treasure Chest.  

11.  What are the prizes upon finishing a reading log?

When you finish a reading log completely, you will receive :  a free book, a pizza coupon and an entry ticket into the Grand Prizes Drawing.

*NOTE- If you finish more than one reading log, you will ONLY receive a free book.   (NO pizza coupon or extra tickets for Grand Prize Drawing)
